What is the Walk to End Homelessness?
The Walk to End Homelessness is a community fundraising event organised by The Passage. It brings people together to raise vital funds and awareness to help end homelessness.
When and where is the event?
The Walk to End Homelessness takes place on Sunday 18 October 2026 at Battersea Park, SW11 4NJ, starting and finishing at The Bandstand.
The walk starts at 11:00am. We recommend arriving in good time beforehand to check in, collect your t-shirt if needed, and take part in the warm-up.

Getting there
By train
The closest National Rail stations are Battersea Park and Queenstown Road, both approximately a 10–15 minute walk to the Bandstand.
By tube
The nearest Tube station is Battersea Power Station (Northern line), around a 10–15 minute walk through the park to the Bandstand.
By bus
Battersea Park is well served by local bus routes, including 44, 137, 156, 344 and 452. From nearby bus stops, the Bandstand is a short walk through the park.
We recommend using public transport where possible and allowing extra time for your journey.
Who can take part?
Everyone is welcome. The event is open to individuals, families, community groups, schools, workplaces, and corporate teams. There’s a distance suitable for all ages and abilities.
What distances are available?
You can choose to walk 2.5km, 5km, or 10km. All routes are fully accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
Do I need to choose my distance in advance?
No. Everyone starts together, so you can decide on the day how far you’d like to walk and can change your distance as you go.
Can children and dogs take part?
Yes. The event is family friendly. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Dogs are very welcome, but must be always kept on a lead.
How much does it cost to register?
- £12 for adults (18+)
- £10 for under 18s
- Free for under 5s and dogs
Is there a fundraising target?
Participants aged 18 and over are asked to aim for a £75 fundraising target. There is no fundraising target for under 18s. Every pound raised makes a real difference.
What does my fundraising support?
Your fundraising supports The Passage’s lifechanging services for people experiencing homelessness. For every £1 raised, 89p goes directly to frontline services.
What support will I receive?
When you sign up, you’ll receive:
- A Team Passage event pack
- A Team Passage t-shirt (and dog bandana for dogs taking part)
- Support to set up your online fundraising page
- Regular fundraising tips and event updates
- A warm welcome from staff and volunteers on the day
- A medal and certificate after completing the walk
What should I expect on the day?
You’ll be welcomed by The Passage team, warm up together, walk as part of a shared community, and finish in the event village with live music, refreshments, and time to connect.
Is this a race?
No. This is a walking-only event to ensure it’s safe and enjoyable for everyone. If you’re interested in running for The Passage, please explore our other challenge events.
How long do I have to complete my fundraising?
Once you have completed your registration, your fundraising page will be set up automatically. You will then have one month after the event date to complete your fundraising.
